I'll be purchasing another trailer from Magnum next winter.Īlso tried to contact Magic Tilt to convey my displeasure and seek some sort of assistance, but they refused to answer my calls.įor Key West leadership, I highly recommend seeking another trailer provider for your boats. For just under $100, they could've easily used the proper materials for a boat meant to be launched and retrieved from salt water. Over all I'm very displeased with Magic Tilt's lack of common sense engineering and quality. Also got stainless staples from Home Depot. I also go the proper bunk carpet and used 3m 77 to prevent carpet sliding. I had augment each bunk support with a piece of galvanized bolster brackets with plastic insulation between as it should have been done originally. This structural problem was caused by galvanized steel bunk brackets being attached to the aluminum supports with no insulation between the two dissimilar metals.ergo bi-metalic corrosion. Okay this is the worst: The aluminum bunk supports were severely corroded where the bunk brackets were attached Some of which had almost not metal left around the bolts. The staples used were NOT stainless and basically the bunk carpet had to be re-stapled many times each year.ĥ. The carpet they used was basically home-use carpet that frayed and was falling apart. This winter I decided to change out the bunks. Hubs are now room temp after trailering 100 miles.Ĥ. Also switched to Mobil One synthetic grease vs cheap blue marine grease that liquifies. Do not use the cheap-ass Chinese bearings from Academy or the major retailers. Replaced them with higher quality bearings from NAPA. Replaced bearings after just two years when I noticed the hubs were always warm after trailering. Trailer should be a double axle for that boat. So far very happy with the boat itself.Ģ. Came with a single axle Magic Magic Tilt trailer.ġ.
